PetSport Tuff Peanut Butter Balls deliver peanut-butter breath as promised — for better or worse.
July 17, 2010 12:13 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
The concept behind Tuff Peanut Butter Balls is elegantly simple. This dog toy is designed not only to act as a satisfying chew toy, but also to freshen your dog’s breath. This design is all fine and good if you like the smell of peanut butter on your dog’s breath. I, for one, don’t. But make no mistake, after playing with this toy, your dog’s breath will smell like he ate a tablespoon of peanut butter.
If the peanut butter aroma is up your alley, the toy is great in every other sense as well. These tennis ball-like toys have slightly less fur than usual and a bit more weight. The seams are rubber and strong enough to resist both slobber and persistent chewing. The ball rolls and bounces like a tennis ball and is easy enough on the throwing arm to allow for multiple tosses during a long game of fetch. All in all, my dog enjoyed playing with it both indoors and outdoors. And because of its size, he actually carried it all the way back from the park.
To me, the greatest drawback was the peanut butter smell. You should ask yourself before buying this product: is peanut butter a scent you’d like to wake up to when your dog hops up on your bed in the morning? Because this product works exactly as promised on the package. After clutching the stinky thing in his mouth for the better part of an afternoon, my dog's breath definitely smelled like peanut butter all night.
Pros: Your dog's breath will smell like peanut butter. Satisfying as a chew toy, with resistant seams to stand up to tough chewing.
Cons: Your dog's breath will smell like peanut butter.

Duke the destroyer
posted 5 years ago
We got my brother's boxer Duke some of these peanut butter scented tennis balls for Christmas. Duke loves tennis balls. They are his favorite toy and always has one in his mouth.
Well, he destroyed these tennis balls in nothing flat. He has never destroyed his tennis balls before. So we figure it was the smell.
So we now know, Duke gets no scented Tennis Balls again.
Pros: none sure
Cons: destroyed
