At nine months old, my puppy Kennedy has finished teething, but still chews like a fiend. When we first welcomed him home at ten weeks old, he had a Puppy Kong, a stuffed turtle we named "Honu" that squeaked and boasted little rope toy legs, a Nylabone Puppy Starter Kit, and the proverbial rope toy.

Months passed. "Honu" was laid to rest, sans legs, squeaker pulled out and stuffing strewn all over the floor. The Puppy Kong was eventually missing little chunks of rubber and had to be thrown away. The proverbial rope toy was somehow untied and joined Puppy Kong in the dumpster. The Healthy Edibles Bacon Flavored Bone in the Nylabone Puppy Starter Kit was partially eaten and thoroughly thrown up fifteen minutes later, and the flexible Puppy Bone had to be thrown away the day we bought it.

Of all of the toys Kennedy started out with [and some others that were collected along the way], only the Chicken Flavored Durable Bone found in the Nylabone Puppy Starter lasted up until now. We bought him the Nylabone Pooch Pacifier so that he'd have something to fetch like a frisbee and chew like crazy. Now Nylabone is our favorite brand of chew toy!

Pros: It keeps him busy when I'm not able to actively play with him, stands up to his insane chewing, and doesn't leave any mess.

Cons: I honestly can't think of a single one. If the flavor doesn't appeal to your dog — it didn't to Kennedy at first — I would suggest soaking it in chicken broth for a few hours and warming it up prior to the first chew. It sounds crazy, but it worked!

Nylabone makes this and I like their products. Got this for Fatty, who took it off to chew, but lost interest after a short while. Expensive fo rthe amount of time she chewed on it.
