Loofa Love Continues
posted 3 years ago
Although there are nearly a dozen Loofa Dogs in our doggy toy box, a clear favorite for our puppy is the 12-inch pink version. When appropriate our lab puppy will collapse into dream land with this between her paws, but she’ll also use it to wear herself out with a serious game of fetch. It’s the perfect size for tossing short distances, which is all the farther I want her running without a leash attached.
We just picked up a second 12-inch Loofa Dog as the first one is beginning to look worn, it has a few break-through seams, and it’s totally coated with oak flowers. The plush surface acts like Velcro and plant debris clings to the surface. She chases this with the energy of a true retriever puppy and now, when she returns one, the second is tossed. Being a smart puppy she has also begun carrying both at the same time.
The multiple squeakers excite her beyond belief and so far she hasn't dug them out. A higher pitched squeaker in the head, along with the lower pitched squeaker (more like a honk) in the tail end are easy for her to squeeze. They also thrill our easily excitable puppy. You really just can’t go wrong with a Loofa Dog for training and for encouraging independent play. This is another one of those “why-didn’t-I-think-of-this-first” instances. What a perfect puppy toy.
Pros: Fetch toy, cuddly, multiple sounds, excitement factor
Cons: Plant debris clings like Velcro

Still number 1
posted 4 years ago
Our flattie carries (by an ear) her loofa to bed every evening. She chews on it in the morning and several times a day. Amazingly the only damage was a seam that opened up near a leg. A few stitches solved that. About once a month or so we toss it into the washer. The dog guards the machine until the loofa is paroled to her care again. We have another that stays in the car, which keeps her occupied while on the road. Nine months of gnawing yet it is still in good condition.
Pros: Good chew toy, easy to clean
Cons: None

Pink Loofa Dog for Breast Cancer
posted 4 years ago
Gracie loves her loofa dogs. She loves nibbling on them and shaking them. And if you squeak it, she'll chase it and bring it back for you to throw.
She's not big on toys -- just these for some reason. In addition to giving her something to do, "her baby" is also like a security blanket. She just likes to have it around.
I like that it goes to supporting another cause. Multipet donates a percentage of its proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Pros: Keeps a small dog entertained for hours
Cons: Big dogs can tear them up in hours.

She loves it!
posted 3 years ago
Lila just got hers this week from Purina and was absolutely thrilled to get another "bun"(bun=toy) and loves it. She tugs and snuggles and when we take it from her and honk the squeaker, she'll steal it back and take it under the bed.
MINE!
Lila is roughly 12 lbs and 5 yrs old and it's good. We have the Pink Dog loofa
Pros: Easy for small dog, Squeaker isn't too shrill
Cons: haven't found one yet
