We have one in the front and one in the back. Our legal lot size is small so the cables give more room to roam. The cables are durable but the clps freeze up in cold weather. The springs always seem to wear out agter 3 or 4 months.
Pros: Cable and fittings are durable and last
Cons: Clip springs are weak

Lots of choices

These are great tie outs. My dog is 11 and we tie him out to potty. This is the kind we have used for the last 8 years with no problems. They don't kink and they come in all weights and lengths which is good for us, we can buy them long enough for the dogs to come in out of the weather so we can untie them!
Pros: Weatherproof
Cons: none

Works well

I have one of these tie out cables and I like it. I only use it when I'm working outside and my dog prefers to be with me. I do not have a fenced yard so this comes in handy. I never tie him out alone because he could get hurt. He is never on it for more than a short time.
Pros: Can be useful
Cons: Shouldn't be used without supervision
