Recommendation: The following dosage recommendation should allow for adequate blood levels to be reached. Dosage should be individualized based on patient response. The softgel capsule can be pilled or punctured and squeezed on the pet?s food or wrapped in small piece of food such as cheese or bread. Initial Dose: Cats All 1 capsule daily Dogs Under 25 lbs. 1 capsule daily Dogs 25-50 lbs. 2 capsules daily Dogs 50-100 lbs. 3 capsules daily Horses All 8 capsules daily Maintenance Dose: Cats All 1 capsule EOD Dogs Under 25 lbs. 1 capsule EOD Dogs 25-50 lbs. 1 capsules daily Dogs 50-100 lbs. 2 capsules daily Horses All 4 capsules daily The initial dose may be continued, or a higher dose can be used based on patient?s response. Sometimes the maintenance dose can be further reduced to every other day or even third day dosing. In very small dogs and cats, the capsules can be punctured and squirted into patient?s mouth.
