Nice when you need it
posted 5 years ago
I purchased one of these when Hrothgar had leg surgery. I only had a pickup truck then and I was not sure how we were going to get him in and out. The ramp really came in handy.
Even though he had never used it before, Hrothgar walked right up with the help of the vet tech and myself. At home, my husband and I was able to use the ramp to get him out.
You see Hrothgar is around 100 pounds. So too big to lift, the ramp really helped. We now have a PT Cruiser for the dogs to ride in and it is very low to the ground. So we don't need the ramp.
I donated to our shelter to use since the shelter van is really high up. (I have to use the running board to get in). So just knowing the ramp is at the shelter just in case we need it there is great. And if I need to borrow it, I know I can. We have let folks borrow it once when their dog was going to have surgery on its leg. They donated $10 and kept it for 3 days and returned it.
The ramp is nice and I recommend it.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: hard to store in car

I really like this ramp. It is sturdy and easy to fold up. The dogs weighing over 50 pds are really hard to lift up, this makes it easier.
Pros: handy, easy to load dogs
Cons: none
