The potent Hartz Flea and Tick Home Spray is made for use on furniture, carpets, floors and other surfaces around your house. The product effectively removes unwanted pests from areas that you and your family use every day. It’s important to note that Hartz Flea and Tick Home Spray is NOT appropriate to spray on your pet. Take extra precautions, and if you do this accidentally, or if you ingest the spray or get it in your eyes or on your skin, take immediate action as recommended.

One of the best features of the Hartz product is its convenient application. Hartz Flea and Tick Home Spray comes in an easy-to-use spray bottle with an adjustable nose that allows for an even or fine spray depending on what is right for the area you wish to treat.

Given the extensive precautions listed on the label, I had my doubts about using Hartz Flea and Tick Spray in my home. However, the extensive directions on the inside of the label, if followed closely, should completely remove the risk. First, take care to shake the bottle thoroughly, then simply apply a mist to the area you wish to treat and — presto — you’re done.

Be careful not to spray on food or surfaces used to prepare food and be aware of excessively dampening furniture and of spraying so much of the product that it collects on tables or other flat surfaces. I was concerned that the product would smell up my home after repeated use, but it turned out to have a generally neutral, even pleasant odor that I stopped noticing after a couple of hours.

Regarding the product’s effectiveness, although I did not have a serious flea or tick problem before, the preventative peace of mind that the Hartz home spray gave me was well worth the usage.

Pros: Easy-to-use; neutral odor; effective and potent.

Cons: As with similar sprays, take precautions to avoid accidents.
