I rarely have flea problems with my dog but on those rare occasions when I've had them I take care of the dogs first and then sprinke this around before I vacuum, especially in areas frequented by the dogs. It must do the trick because I've never had any problem with fleas cropping up on the carpet later as used to happen. So I'd definitely say give it a try if you get fleas so that the problem doesn't repeat after you deflea the dog.
