Zoomies Organic Kelp Shampoo

Popping open Zoomies Organic Kelp and Green Tea Shampoo for the first time, I was pleasantly greeted with a scent that reminded me of a sweet tropical drink. While I scrubbed our tester dog with the sea-colored lather, I kept having flashes of being in a Tiki hut with waves crashing nearby and a warm breeze in my hair.

The primary ingredient in the shampoo is a kelp serum that nourishes your pet’s fur and restores its natural texture and shine. According to the product information the kelp serum microscopically coats each one of your pet’s hairs — making brushing and detangling much easier.

When taken for a test grooming run, the product worked just as claimed. After bathing our tester dog with the shampoo and drying him thoroughly I ran a comb through his coat and found that the hair was more soft and pliable than usual. I would especially encourage pet owners of longer-haired dogs to try out the shampoo.

In addition to being an effective detangler, kelp has properties that help heal minor wounds and repair nicks and scrapes. The shampoo is infused with Vitamin E, which nourishes the hair follicles, and aloe vera to soothe the skin. Also, the tropical smell – which I can only attribute to the kelp serum – doesn’t linger for too long if you happen to not be as big a fan of it as I was. Thirty minutes after the bath I could only detect it by leaning close to our tester dog and by the following morning it had disappeared completely.

Over the next couple of days the shampoo continued to have a detangling effect on our tester dog’s fur, making it much easier to comb and groom him.
