Four Paws Magic Coat Puppy Tearless Shampoo

This shampoo is gentle for puppies, but I wasn't thrilled with it. I prefer dog shampoos that don't have a lot of strong fragrance. This shampoo smelled a bit too strong for my liking. My pup's coat was soft, but she has dry skin, especially in the winter, so I switched her to a different brand that seems to work much better.

I bought this shampoo for my older dog by chance one day because it was the only tearless shampoo on the shelf.

My dog loves being bathed and I never want that to change. She stands happily in warm water while enjoying a full body massage. I lather her up, scrub her with a soft bristle brush and pour water all over her and when we are through and she has been toweled off she races about the house and out into the yard to find something to roll in. And when she comes back in and everyone has adored her, she gets a treat. What's not to like.

My dog is a beagle and after I used this puppy shampoo, her coat was very soft and tended to curl in places. A beagle should have a hard hound coat, not a soft, curly coat. At first I didn't like the cuteness of it all and thought about changing to a different shampoo. But most of the shampoos I have tried left her coat oily and/or resulted in dandruff. There is no dandruff with Four Paws and she seems to feel especially good after she is bathed with it. So, in the end I decided that a soft coat doesn't matter. She's not a show dog. She's a pet.

Also, she does not seem to need bathing as often as she did before I began using this. I have no idea why. It is indeed tearless. I try to keep the soap out of her eyes in any case, but with this shampoo I do not worry too much if some happens to get in. I will definitely buy it again.
