I'm not much for muzzles but when my last dog was old it was difficult for her to stand up for grooming for long so I muzzled her and held her while the groomer did the work as quickly as possible. Believe me she could still let you know she didn't like grooming and needed the muzzle.

We have one of these just in case, its been a long time since we had any need, and mostly ever only with a vet. procedure. Only to be used in situations where people are present. Dog can breathe easily with this, it isn't painful to wear, and dog can lick move mouth slightly but not enough to bite. Think these might be dangerous if pet left alone, as might harm himself trying to get this off. In a trusting relationship with a pet, I just think there are alot of things you can do without one of these in most situations.

Pros: can be helpful at vet. office sometimes, have one on hand for emergenies only

I have large dogs and this works well for the vet visits. I dont have to use it but i do just in case my pet does not get along with the other pets in the office and she/he seems ok with having it on.

Usually it is the smaller dogs we have trouble with when we go to heartworm test or give vaccines. We use the #1 the most. It seems to fit alot of the smaller breeds of dogs.

Pros: easy to use

Cons: some dogs don't like being muzzled
