My daughter installed this to keep her dogs in, and they dug up the wire trying to escape!

My daughter installed one of these systems. Her dogs must be smart because they dug the wire up and broke it. Before it broke, it DID work and kept the dogs from escaping onto the busy road that they lived on. I personally don't like them.
Pros: These can be effective deterrents for dogs that live near traffic
Cons: Shocking can be scary for a dog and seems sort of cruel
