Canine Leather Muzzle Extra

We don't really like leather muzzles at the shelter. Too hard to sanitize between uses. This serves the purpose very well, but it's hard to be sure germs are gone so it can be used on another dog.

Pros: sturdy

Cons: not good for shelter environment

Seamus was being tested for pain, dexterity and arthritis the other day at the vet. They wanted to put this on him "just in case." He's not a dog that would bite, but given the pain and anxiety, who knows.

It was easy to put on. He could still lick his nose, but I don't think he was able to pant at all. Dogs can overheat if they can't pant. He only had to wear it for a few minutes though, so he was fine.

I think that nylon muzzles would be easier to sanitize than a leather one.

Pros: does what it is supposed to do

Cons: i like nylon better
