A natural way to control periodic doggie diarrhea

posted 6 years ago

Our dachshund is an older citizen, and developed periodic chronic diarrhea, which we have tried to treat in a number of ways over the past 2 years or so. Still, he would continue to have 3-4 episodes per month. It was diagnosed as chronic IBD, inflammatory bowel disease.

We tried using Gastriplex by Thorne Research - it's a probiotic solution with other ingredients that support normal bowel function. We had one diarrhea episode within the first week of trying Gastriplex, and none since then. Our dog is happy and we are too - no more diarrhea for 4 straight months! We are keeping him on Gastriplex, and are delighted to have a natural remedy so we can avoid antibiotics and other chemical treatments. We recommend Gastriplex very highly.

Pros: Our dog no longer has chronic diarrhea

Cons: It is expensive, but worth it

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
