I used this for years on my old dog. He was a fairly outdoor oriented dog and enjoyed running through the woods and fields chasing deer or somthing. So as a result, ticks were an issue.
Even though he did still have a tick or two now and again, I would hardly blame the collar, as with the amount of time he spend in tick infested areas, he was bound to get a few.
Overall I found this very effective.

Don't waste your money on flea and tick collars. They don't protect your animal. Spend a little extra and get a topical product that has good reviews.

Flea collars in general aren't a good way to keep fleas off your dog. They cause fur lose around the neck, toxins into the skin and many dogs get sick or injured because of them. Any time an animal comes intot he shelter with a flea collar on right away we cut it right off. Even when I worked at an animal hospital those things went right in the garbage.
