Why a pet door?

I don't get this page entirely..........I have never had a pet door...........You can simply put a hook and eye on your door, it works great. you can put a small hook and eye to allow your cats to come and go, but not allow anything bigger. Actually, we do this with a couple of doors in our house.All my pets get in at night anyway.

I will check out my local Petco, this will be a good birthday present for my friend that has an out door cat.
