Raw on the go

posted 4 years ago

The Honest Kitchen dehydrated foods are an excellent option for those who choose to feed a raw diet on the road. Travelling with a cooler full of raw meat can be a real problem -- but the Honest Kitchen foods elminate the problems.

You don't need a refrigerator or cooler. Nothing rots and stinks in your car or motel room. And your dogs still get the healthy benefits of raw.

One caveat - I find that I need to let these foods hydrate a lot longer than the instructions say, especially when feeding the formula with grain.

Pros: Healthy, natural, easy

Cons: Cost

Healthy, natural, human-grade dog food

posted 4 years ago

After the pet food scares, and because my dog doesn't do well with all the additives in food, I started feeding him Honest Kitchen's Embark formula. It's dehydrated raw, and all you do is measure some out, mix it with water, let it sit 10 minutes and then feed your pup. My Frenchie is picky and absolutely loves this stuff. His stools are better and he's not chewing his feet anymore. Plus, it's not filled with chemicals and even though it's raw, it's safe... no salmonella, etc. because it's dehydrated. Really easy to feed him and I feel better knowing he's not getting poisoned by the crappy stuff. The only drawback is I've had to order online and it's pricey. A 4 pound box makes like 3 weeks worth of food for him though.

Pros: human-grade ingredients, nutritious, dog LOVES it

Cons: pricey
