Ruffwear float coat is the best
posted 6 years ago
I wanted to get a lifejacket for my 65 lb weim, went to the petstore to check out what they had to offer but was dissapointed by the selection. The material was very flimsy, the foam itself was very thin which made me question how much support it would actually provide the dog once in the water. They were also poorly designed, with no support under the chin to keep the head out of water.
After some research I settled on Ruffwear, it was more expensive, but I found it on clearance at rei.com and picked it up once it was shipped to the store.
Once it arrived, I was very impressed by the quality, its very sturdy with thick foaming, designed to countour dogs body, has reflective piping, grab handle, quick release buckles and most importanly plenty of foam under the chin to keep the head afloat.
This summer we've done a lot of swimming and boating and Uno has worn it everywhere, he would be in the water for 20-30 mins paddling non stop and come out totally relaxed like he was never in the water in the first place.
I look forward to many more summers with my dog and will continue to use Ruffwear products.
Pros: High quality, attractive, comfortable
Cons: none so far
