It comes apart for easy cleaning. i use the bottom teat for puppy birthing and they stay in it for about the first three weeks when they start trying to roam. It cleans up so easy after them. Then when they go outside in the kennel, or on the back covered porch, the lid fits on nicely. I have drilled two little holes in one and fitted a heat lamp for my male pug. this has worked real nice this winter. I then just cover with a blanket or tarp, and the inside stays toasty. great uses.

we use to use this outside when we put our sulcata tortoise out in the summer he would go in it to sleep during the day but now he's to big
