I waited to buy this crate until my dog was good with his wire crate. He went in easily and was calm when we came home so we thought he was ready for the wood crate. He wasn't. We think the cat teased him while in the crate - we came home and he had chewed on the slats. We're not using any crate right now because of the cat issue (he's more aggressive to the cat after he's been crated).

this dog crate is nice enough to put inside the house, and it has a great storage area in the roof. unfortunately, a smart dog can figure out how to open the roof and get to what's stored there (we store our dog's 'good' toys up there)! the catalog's measurements are to the top of the roof, not the ceiling of the house, so order accordingly.

It is a lovely looking piece of furniture. Would match Mission Style pieces. I would be concerned about the dog chewing on the crate.
