We had been giving our 12-yr-old dach/beagle mix a glucosamine / chondroitin tablet from GNC, and he was doing ok, but he had really slowed down on our walks. The Ultra Mega formula, which has more mg of each ingredient, was on sale one day so I got it instead.

What a difference - our dog hasn't acted like this in a couple of years. He's able to go on our long walks again (I had given up on ever doing that again) and has energy to spare when we get home. I don't even give him a full dose, just one pill with his morning meal. This is a pricey product, but a fantastic investment in his health.

I highly recommend this for your senior dog, especially if s/he is noticeably slowing down.
