When your dog gets spooked they can wiggle or slip out of a normal collar. With the combo version it reduces the chance that your dog will slip out in a moment of stress. When you have a dog named "Ace" you know you are going to end up buying a poker-themed collar. This was the one we chose. He's a 90 lb Akbash, and the 3/4" sized Lupine collars still had a large enough size range to fit my big boy. This collar didn't fade, held up well, and looked amazing on both him and our black lab mix. It's hard to tell from pictures online, but the white color on this collar is really more of a silverish tone.

A friend recommended that I purchase a Lupine collar shortly after my terrier puppy had destroyed 3 collars in under a month... one even while her sister was wearing it. She tried chewing it and quickly gave up. I also like the combo part bc it is easy to slip on and off her when she's being so wiggly. Even though it slips on and off easily, it doesn't slip off accidently if you hook it to the pull part.
