The Olive & Fig Shed Control from SPA keeps coats lustrous and full.

November 30, 2010 2:24 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.

The Shed Control Shampoo for Dogs by SPA is a pet shampoo, formulated with olive and fig essences to give it a sweet scent. The product also contains a potent blend of vitamins specifically formulated to repair and heal damaged hairs and replace missing nutrients that have been depleted from your dog’s rough and tumble lifestyle.

The shampoo is packed with so many healthy and all-natural ingredients, such as hydrolyzed wheat protein, olive oil extract, vitamin E and a mild cleanser. In addition to being extremely healthy for your pet’s scalp, the Shed Control Shampoo also lives up to its name, reducing the amount of hair your pet sheds in those unseasonably cold winter months.

So, how did it test? Well, when I wetted down and lathered up our 2007 issue tester French bulldog with Olive and Fig Shed Control, I had high hopes. According to the directions, I applied a generous amount of shampoo to his already wet scalp, rubbed it in and let it “set” for a few minutes before washing it out. After I had dried his coat adequately I inspected it for any signs of damage and was pleased to find that the shampoo had coated the hairs with a protective and smooth layer. His coat felt light and smooth to the touch and his scent had notes of olive and fig. Over time, I also detected less shedding, especially for the time of year.

Bottom line: if you’re looking for something to keep your pooches coat in prime condition this winter, look no further than SPA’s Olive and Fig Shed Control Shampoo.

Pros: Controls shedding; all-natural ingredients.

Cons: None.
