I have to boxers and when I brushed the older one I was absolutely amazed at the RIVERS of hair that I brushed off of him! As for the younger one she didn't have as much but she is only 8 months old so I didn't expect there to be. I also use this to work in the shampoo when I bathe them and it works rather well. My older dog also enjoys being brushed with this more than he did the handled brush with the metal bristles (the older dog would run from me. the younger one wasn't here yet.). My only complaint is that it is harder to brush over the ribs of a leaner framed dog. It was also very reasonably priced. I believe I paid about $6 bucks for it. Try it you'll like it!!

Another tool that is useful to have for grooming and can be helpful with bathing also. We've had one of these for years, they never wear out. In the bath, one of these feels pretty good for soaping up and lathering through; it serves to help with deep cleaning for the most effective bathing experience. The handle is large, but with care it can be useful even with medium-small breeds (too small and you wouldn't need one, I wouldn't think).
