Pet Head Life's An Itch Skin Soothing Dog Shampoo
(4 out of 5)
Life's An Itch Dog Shampoo from Pet Head helps to control irritating skin.
January 12, 2012 2:11 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
Keeping certain canine coats healthy can be a challenge. Between hot spots, dryness, sensitivity, and nicks and bites, the scalp can cause a lot of irritation for your pooch. Fortunately, Pet Head has created a specialized shampoo for these dogs — the Life’s An Itch Skin Soothing Dog Shampoo.
Like the other shampoos in the Pet Head line, Life’s An Itch Skin Soothing Dog Shampoo is specialized for a specific type of problem, and uses a battery of ingredients to tackle the problem. And while the formula isn’t completely all-natural, there are a few elements in this cleanser that are common in other dog grooming products, such as tea tree oil, oatmeal, and aloe vera to nourish and soothe your dog’s itchy scalp. And the cleanser is free of sulfates and parabens for owners worried about introducing those ingredients to their dogs’ grooming routines.
So setting the ingredients aside, how does the Pet Head Life’s An Itch Skin Soothing Dog Shampoo perform? During test drives, our tester mutt ended up with a clean, pleasant-smelling coat and a scalp that seemed to give him less problems, even if his scratching didn’t entirely disappear.
If you’re looking for a completely all-natural cleanser to groom your itchy pooch, Life’s An Itch Skin Soothing Dog Shampoo won’t fit the bill. But for an effective shampoo that helps to control scratching, this may be worth a try for you and for your dog.
Pros: Helps to control skin irritations; cleans dog's fur.
Cons: Not entirely all-natural.
