A good tool

posted 5 years ago

I tried this on my dog and the sound of it made her very skittish. I have friends who used it and their dogs were great with it. I guess it depends on the dog and how accustomed they are to having their nails cut.

I have no idea why shed control is listed as something to review on this product. It has nothing to do with shedding. Another ZooToo gaffe. Sort of like rating the taste of dog food. My dog hasn't shared her opinion of the taste of her food with me.

All in all I think this is a very good product.

Pros: avoids nail clipping

Cons: some dogs don't like the noise

Oster Nail Grinder

posted 5 years ago

Nail grinding seems much easier than cutting - and our dogs tolerate it better. The small diameter of this tool makes it easy to handle. Sometimes the head does not seem to seat properly and may fly off, and the grinder has to be changed from time to time (it's like sand paper, and wears out). It does a good job, however and leaves the nails smooth. Need to make sure dogs are OK with sound and introduce slowly with treats!

Pros: Easy to grasp

Cons: Hard to keep head in place, may tangle with fur, cord
