If you don't mind the hard work, these are for you. If you don't mind long periods wrestling with a frightened dog as you try NOT to nick them, these are for you.

I find they get hot after long periods of use and after about a year, they get dull and/or too much hair in the housing that effects the performance.

I find it makes more sense to pay a groomer to do this.

With a cocker spaniel grooming is an absolute necessity. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars a month getting my dog groomed at a salon, I prefer to do it myself. I'm not the best at grooming but these clippers make it somewhat easier. It is important for Freckles to be clipped because it keeps her fur from matting and also helps the condition of her skin. She is a skiddish dog so the noise from the clippers scare her a bit but this probably wouldn't be the case for other dogs as they are not that loud. These clippers are an investment up front but in the end I feel like I"m saving money on grooming and providing less stress to my dog.

I use this clipper to trim my cat's ruff around his neck when it gets too long. The clipper has a plug-in cord attached (as opposed to cordless) and has a very easy on/off switch. It is easy to use and not too loud. My cat doesn't even seem to mind the noise. The price was good. I only use this clipper occassionally and it works fine for my needs. Perfect for grooming once in a while.

Pros: Not too expensive, easy to use, not to loud

Cons: Not the best clipper out there

This product doesn't work that well. We purchased this product to save money on grooming. It looked very nice in the package, but the blades are not that sharp.
