The patented FURminator deShedding Tool for Dogs quickly and easily removes (it doesn't cut, it removes) the loose, dead, undercoat hair that's the underlying source of a pet owner's major complaint - shedding and the allergies and cleanliness problems associated with it. The grooming brush's uniquely designed stainless steel edge grabs loose undercoat hair and harmlessly removes it without damaging the topcoat. FURejector button cleans and removes loose hair from the tool with ease, simply push the button to release the hair.

The FURminator DeShedding Tool is the ultimate grooming machine.

If you've been looking for more power in your grooming tool, you may be ready for the FURminator line of brushes.

Available in a wide range of sizes, the FURminator can tackle just about any coat, as our long-haired tester dog proved. His tangled coat quickly became show-quality, although users should be careful not to dig in the FURminator too deeply or pull too hard at particularly loose knots. The easy-grip handle might make you forget the FURminator's strength as you tackle your pet's coat.

The FURminator's newer models feature a "FURejector button," which releases the loose hair for easier cleaning -- a particularly convenient touch after an intense grooming session.

Of course, this top-of-the-line tool comes at a premium price, but it may just be the only grooming brush you'll ever need.

Pros: High-quality brush; available in range of sizes.

Cons: High quality comes at a high retail price.

Best Grooming Tool Around!

posted 4 years ago

This is the best grooming tool around! It removes dead undercoat and really does reduce shedding. It's easy to use and my dogs are much happier after being "fURminated".

Pros: Removes dead undercoat

Cons: none

Works well... Too well?

posted 4 years ago

I love my furminator for my cats. They are short hair but have super thick rabbit-plush coats, and shed ALL the time and it goes everywhere! The furminator cuts down a lot on the amount of hair around the house. It is too harsh to use on my old dogs though, the hardness of the metal blade even if I am hardly pressing down on at all, hits their bones maybe, but they hate it, and I can't use it hard enough to get it to work on them. Also, when I first got mine, I kind of over groomed the cats. They loved it, but it made their coat look a little sparse... that was user error though, not a fault of the product.

Pros: desheds like crazy

Cons: painful for skinny/old pets, can over do it
