This does an OK job but seems to pull and distress the animal. Only used as a last resort.

Pros: Works very well

Cons: Seems to pull skin to much

Dematting tool

If you use this everyday, you can prevent mats from forming. However, with a newfie, there's a lot of hair to be combed and the prongs don't always reach to the skin. For shorter hair dogs this is fine.

Pros: Helps get matts out

Cons: Prongs not long enough for a newfie
