I had one of these brushes until my most recent adotion of Betty chewed the handle off it. I absolutely loved this brush, not only did it get the hairs off the dogs, but also I used it on the stairs in my house to get the hairs off the carpet, works really well there. The bristles were stiffer than other slicker wire brushes I have which I loved. As soon as I seen another one like this one I am going to puchased it. I have purchased other brands but they are not working as well. These slicker brushes are well worthe the cost and they are inexpensive. I puchased the one I had at Walmart years ago and just recently I had to toss it. Looking for another one.

We have had this particular Four Paws Slicker brush for several years. It really works to remove a lot of loose and matted fur. Quite frankly, since it was very inexpensive, we were not very kind to how we treated it. We used to brush our previous dog with this slicker outside on the deck because we did not want all the loose fur being removed all over the carpet. There were many times that we would leave it laying on the deck for a few days when we were finshed brushing him and it was still durable enough not to rust or come apart.
We are still using this same brush now on Rocky, our new colllie. Just look at the photo review to see how effective it is in removing loose hair and how pretty his coat is after a brushing.

I have used this on my dogs, and tho it works great, the dogs really do not like it, you have to be very careful not to touch their skin with the brush as it hurts, the bristles are very sharp.
