Some kibbles work better than others

posted 4 years ago

i got a couple of these so we wouldn't have to fill up cat bowls for our 5 cats constantly. at the point that i got these my cats were on By Nature cat food, which had plus-sign shaped kibble ( + ). this kibble didn't flow out especially well. i generally had to poke my finger around in the little opening into the bowl to get it to come out. i would have been fairly disappointed with these, but fortunately i had been planning to switch our cats to Taste of the Wild anyway, and Taste of the Wild, as it turns out, has small, spherical kibbles. these flow from the feeder much better. i know there are a great many different shapes of kibble out there, i'm not sure which all types will be most prone to hanging up, but some (for example, the plus-sign shape) tend to not flow out as well as others (small & round).

Pros: simple to use

Cons: dosn't work well with some kibbles

Helps to keep food contained

posted 6 years ago

This stores a good quantity of food; it is less likely to be sent flying than my regular bowls seem to be. On the whole, it gets the job done.

Pros: food is harder to scatter;good capacity

Cons: I find it harder to wash out than regular bowls

Works great for multiple cat homes.

posted 5 years ago

We have 6 cats, so this thing is great! I no longer have to fill their food dishes multiple times a day, I just fill this container and it usually lasta several days. The only problem is that once you fill it, you have to be very careful not to accidentally pull the food canister odd of the top. If you do, food goes everywhere!

Pros: holds lots of food

Cons: food canister can come off when you pick it up

Good...For certain pets.

posted 6 years ago

If your pet just eats enough, i highly recommend it. My cats just eat enough, so its perfect. But if your pet overeats or is overweight I say no, don't buy it.

Pros: don't have to refill often, big

Cons: not good for pets who overeat
