Honestly my motor vent in the fountain catches more cat hair and junk than my filter ever dreamed of....so I don't know if those really work....or if it is just a way for us pet owners to spend more money???
Pros: I THINK it's cleaning the water
Cons: Not quite sure if it really is cleaning the water
