This food was recommended to us when our lab/pointer mix dog had problems with her previous food. We used to feed her Iams large breed formula, but it caused her to throw up and have bad diarrhea throughout the day while we were at work. She also wouldn't eat until the very end of the day when she was completely starving, and I'm not sure if that was because she didn't like the taste of the Iams or if she actually realized it was making her sick. So we switched her to the Oatmeal and Chicken formula from Nutro and she eats as soon as we feed her. She has never gotten sick from this food and we can now let her be loose in the house during the day without worrying about having a mess to clean up when we get home. We have a new puppy that we immediately started on the puppy formula and plan to switch to the adult formula when she gets older...they are both very happy and healthy and look forward to dinner time!

Pros: She loves the taste and it is great for her sensitive stomach

We tried this formula with our golden lab mix after she seemed unable to tolerate Canadae and had done so well on Nutro Lamb and Rice/large breed, which is no longer available.

We did not not any difference in her stomach upset though she readily ate the food. Nutrition wise, it is good, as are all of Nutro's variety and it does not contain filler.

However, the puppies who were eating it also did quite well on it, with no stomach upset. We used it in them during a time when they seemed to be having some digestive problems and loose stool. It seemed to help the distress, and they are now back on their regular brand.

So, in conclusion, I would say it is effective for the most part in not causing upset, and Libby may just be hyper sensitive.

when i first adopted nicky, i was told he was on nutro but not which specific brand. i first had him on the ultra small breed formula but he continued to have runny stools and woudln't eat much, so i decided to switch him to the sensitive stomach. he doesn't pick at his food anymore, and eats his full portion. his stools are also nice and firm now. plus his coat has gotten very full and shiny!

Our Italian Greyhound, Frankie, has a sensitive stomach. After much trial and error we found that this food works for him best. On the other hand, for Max, our other Iggy, he gets extra flatulent when he eats this stuff! LOL

We changed from puppy to adult food and Smokey loved it the first time I put it out. We didin't have to blend the two, he only wanted the new adult food. It seems to keep his tummy from making strange noises so I assume it is better for him and...he likes it!

Pros: Great food for a small dog
