An automatic feeder that does just about everything but wash your pet while you're away, the Ergo Systems Auto Pet Feeder has all the flashy features you might need -- and some you didn't even know you needed.

Using an electronic timer with battery backup, the Ergo Systems Auto Feeder also boasts up to 8 program settings per day and a daylight savings feature. Of course, all of these bells and whistles make the product challenging to program -- a couple of close reads of the manual were required before this reviewer was able to get a handle on how to run the feeder.

Owners of larger breeds will also appreciate the durability and safety features of the Ergo Pet Feeder, including precise controls over the feed rate and protective sheathing on the cord to ward off power chewers.

Of course, all of this bling comes at a comparable price -- just over $100 at most outlets -- but after "test-driving" the Ergo Systems Feeder, you'll never look at automatic feeders the same way again.

Pros: This is the Cadillac of automatic pet feeders.

Cons: The wonderful quality comes at a price.
