After finding two ticks on my pom, to help until we treated the yard, I went out and bought the Sergeant's Gold Flea & Tick squeeze on. I'd bought shampoo and such from them before and never thought anything of it. We get home and I apply it. Within an hour, he's puking drool, excessively itching to the point of almost bleeding and whining and yelping. Due to our financial situation, I called an emergency vet to see if anything could be done for it at home. They did say that they'd encountered this product several times and that it was HIGHLY toxic. They then proceeded to tell me to bathe him in Dawn, to give him Benadryl and to watch him for the next 24 hours because seizuring was a high possibility. Thankfully, Gus made it through the night and to stop him from scratching and tearing his skin, I put a cold cloth and ace bandage around his midsection where he was itching. He got up the next morning fine, drinking and eating, not puking BUT the excessive itching and whining was still there. I once again called and a vet and was called in meds to put him on. If you search the web, there are SEVERAL animals this has happened to due to this product. It should be taken off the market immediately and I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. It has caused the death of some animals. Call your vet and ask about it, chances are, they've dealt with it.
Cons: left my dog puking, excessively itching and with burn marks
