This works well to reduce insect bites, so when we're going to be outside a long time I spray it on my dog. He's on Frontline but this will give him protection from the irritation of initial bug bites.

It has a strong smell, but I feel better knowing it's all natural ingredients and not chemicals.

My dog doesn't like the spraying sound or feel, and he tried to pull away, but I just tempt him with a treat to hold still while I'm spraying.

We tried this because chemical treatments can be so irritating, especially to cats. It smelled great and once the pets got used to the spray, they didn't mind it. Unfortunately, it did not get rid of the fleas. If you can stand the pyrethrins, use something with that and use this to freshen your pets and their bedding.
