Due to the essential oils this product does have an overpowering smell at first but it fades to a bearable level. I personally don't mind the smell, in fact I like it, but it is still a bit much at first. I try to keep the chemicals in my life and environment to a minimum and when I can find something that works with less chemicals I am more then willing to purchase it. It doesn't last as long as the chemical version (it can be reapplied after two weeks) but at the price and the lack of chemicals I would be more then willingly to apply it more often if I needed to. I have very little problems with fleas in my area and I actually when a couple months without having to reapply.

Pros: no chemicals, easy to apply, works well, cost

Cons: smell, length of effectiveness

If you want to be sure that your pets are protected from fleas & ticks, this is the way to go. We've used these on our cats for years now & never had a problem. Now, if I could find a generic brand...........

Pros: Squeeze it on & then forget about it.

Cons: Aint' cheap
