Frontline Plus For Dogs

: Frontline® Plus is a long-lasting, fast acting and highly effective flea and tick control product to be used on dogs and puppies. Frontline® Plus contains Fipronil, this ingredient works by affecting the flea or tick's nervous system by causing paralysis and then death. Frontline® Plus eliminates adult fleas just like Frontline while also containing the ingredient methoprene, this ingredient eliminates flea eggs and larvae, while keeping all stages of fleas from developing. Methoprene imitates the juvenile growth hormone of fleas. This simulation prevents the larvae from molting and developing into more mature stages. Frontline® Plus is applied between the shoulder blades and spreads over your pet's body with the body oils killing 100% of fleas or ticks within 24-48 hours. Controls the transmission of tick-borne Lyme disease. Frontline® Plus stays on through all activities including swimming, bathing and exposure to the summer sun. Dog.com uses a guaranteed US Supplier for this product. Active ingredients: Fipronil and S-methoprene. Directions: Place the applicator tip between your pet's shoulder blades, down to the skin level, and squeeze the applicator, applying the entire contents in a single spot. Avoid superficial application to the dog's hair. Only one application per treatment is needed. Frequency Of Application: Research demonstrates that Frontline® Plus kills adult fleas, flea eggs and flea larvae for up to three months and ticks for up to one month. It is recommended that in areas of high reinfestation, or if your pet has fleas, which may cause flea allergy dermatitis, a monthly application should be followed. Do not reapply Frontline® for 30 days. Special Precautions: This product is for external use only and may be applied on dogs and puppies 8 weeks old or older. Please consult with your veterinarian before using on medicated pets, pets using this product with other pesticides and debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals. This product is harmful to humans if swallowed. If this should occur, contact a poison control center and have patient sip water, do not induce vomiting unless advised to. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

Works for fleas and about 5O% of ticks

posted 4 years ago

I have starting using Frontline Plus on my three doggies.
So far I have not seen any fleas. But I am still having to check them daily for ticks. So this product seems to only kill about half the ticks.I will still use this product and continue to check them each day for ticks, so far each day I still find about three ticks on each dog.But we also live in a wooden area.

Pros: seems to be working for fleas

Cons: does not kill all ticks
