A potent spray with a pleasing scent, Dr. Harvey’s Herbal Protection Spray is part of the company’s line of all-natural flea and tick protection products, including a shampoo, concentrate dip, and ear wash for your dog.
Dr. Harvey’s Herbal Protection Spray appears to be intended primarily as a preventative product – for use before and after outdoor walks during prime pest season, or as a shield against infestation in your pet’s bedding or apparel.
Like other all-natural flea and tick products, Dr. Harvey’s Herbal Protection Spray incorporates oils that pack a punch against pests, such as neem oil, citronella oil, and eucalyptus oil. A glance at the list of ingredients also reveals a few surprises such as cedarwood oil, geranium oil and organic rosemary extract – components which may account in part for the product’s light, agreeable smell (a scent that is especially impressive since the spray contains no perfumes). And all of these oils are presented in a base of witch hazel, a naturally occurring astringent.
On trial runs with our tester canine, a spritz with Dr. Harvey’s Herbal Protection Spray before a trek through the great outdoors kept him insect-free throughout the journey. And better still, he didn’t bring any unwanted guests back inside. And the mild, chemical-free spray didn’t cause any visible irritation or discomfort.
So if your pooch is planning to spend the warm months romping through woods, parks and your backyard, Dr. Harvey’s Herbal Protection Spray is a safe, powerful option for helping to keep him blissfully pest-free.
Pros: Light, fresh smell; all-natural, organic ingredients.
