A Money Saver for Us

posted 5 years ago

We have spent a great deal of money in the past trying to clear up and prevent our Great Pyrenees', aka Treble, ear infections. Several rounds of antibiotics and topical creams never worked and were costly.

I finally googled ear infections and found Zymox. I was a bit surprised at the cost, but realized that it was a bargain compared to another visit to the vet.

After a 2 week course of treatment, Treble is free and clear of infection. No more yeasty smell and no more violent head shaking for him.

We are currently using Zymox ear wash on him twice a week with the hope that it will keep the infection from returning. So far, so good.

Pros: worked well when nothing else has

Cons: dog must be cooperative for it to work

Best for Chronic Ear Problems

posted 5 years ago

This is WONDERFUL stuff. If your dog suffers from recurrent ear infections Zymox is worth trying. Not only is it a gentle, natural formula (made of up milk enzymes that eat ear crud and then create an environment hostile to bugs but good for dog ears) but you don't need to muck around inside the dog's ear to clean it. You just put the drops in once a day and leave it alone. This is great for dogs with sensitive ears or who are stressed or aggressive when their ears are handled.

Pros: Inexpensive, available without prescription, highly effective, gentle, natural

Cons: None

I always keep this on hand after my vet gave this to me for my German Shepherd's ear infection. It cleared it up and I was happy that she didn't have to be on antibiotics. It works REALLY well!

Great for mildly infected ears

posted 5 years ago

This is a great product for recurrent ear infections or for dogs that get raw ears after swimming. Several of my Labs were prone to these problems and nothing worked better than the Zymox to keep the ears healthy.

Pros: Wonderful for recurrent infections, smells nice too, all-natural

Cons: hard to find sometimes

Effective ear product

Our vet strongly recommended this product. It worked very nicely, and without the heavy medicinal smell of other ear products.
