For rinsing of ears in to aid in removal of wax and debris before use of medicated therapies.var moreinfovalue='NEW! T8 Solution Ear Rinse (4 fl. oz)T8 Solution, containing Tetrasodium Edetate (EDTA), is an ideal adjunctive treatment for otitis externa, especially in cases of gram-negative infections such as Pseudomonas spp, Proteus spp, Escherichia Coli, and Klebsiella spp.  Frequently, these cases may become chronic and difficult to treat with topical formulations that are currently available because the bacteria associated with these infections develop multiple antibiotic resistance.  Also, many antibiotics are inactivated or become less effective at the low pH level found in the exudate commonly associated with cases of gram-negative otitis externa.  The low pH in acidifying ear cleansers may also lessen the activity of antibiotics if rinsed prior to application of the medication.    T8 Solution affects the cell membranes of bacteria by chelating minerals such as Calcium and Magnesium, causing the membranes to become more porous, thus allowing the antibiotic to break through the bacteria cellular wall and destroy it.T8 Solutionâ??s alkaline pH (8.5): - Increases cell permeability, enhancing the penetration and efficacy of antibiotics. - Improves the potency of antibiotics that are inactivated or become less effective due to the low pH found in exudate.T8 Solution contains an antimicrobial/preservative agent to eliminate possible contamination of the solution after administration in the infective ear.T8 Solution is non-irritating (tonicity of 222 mM, nearly isotonic).T8 Solution contains mild surfactants for thorough cleansing of the ear canal.T8 Solution is a ready-to-use ear rinse offering two-year stability,  formulation consistency, uniformity and reliability. T8 Solution is indicated for use prior to administration of other medications.  T8 Solution should be gently squirted into the external ear canal 10 to 15 minutes prior to each application of

Best ear flush out there

posted 5 years ago

This is a great product to use in shelters. Cats can get dirty ears so easily, and T8 is a great flush to use if there is no underlying infection or earmite infestation that is causing the dirty ears. We use it quite often.

Pros: Great for dirty ears

Cons: none

Great for before using treatments

posted 6 years ago

I used this before on a dog I used to have that had chronic ear problems. My vet advised us to use it before putting in the Baytril drops. We cleaned twice a day and put in the treatment twice a day for 21 days. It totally cleared up the problems. I think it helped the medication work better.

I use the ProEar cleaner from PetEdge for regular cleaning purposes, but this T8 is good to use to clean before any medical treatments.

Pros: Cleans the ears before treating

Cons: Expensive
