I have fed my dogs wellness, among many other brands. There was not all that much change in my dogs skin and coat as I would have expected, for what I paid for this food. The ingredients are fair, not great. There is still fillers in the formula.
I currently use a food with NO fillers. All meats (no protein meals or by products), fruits and vegetables. My dogs love it and, their skin and coats show it. I do also feed raw.
I saw someone said they cook for their 1 dog. STOP. You are cooking all the nutrients out of they food.
Feed the food to them raw. mix some raw veggies like squash, broccoli, pumpkin, sweet potatoe, etc. in with it. You'll find MUCH better results.
Pros: Probably a better quality food
Cons: Over priced for the ingredients.

Not what I hoped for
posted 4 years ago
I gave several Wellness dry foods, including Super5, to CJ, before deciding to feed her only whole foods, both cooked and raw. Because CJ used to have a sensitive stomach, I was disappointed that this manufacturer sometimes changed the ingredients in their products, without notice on the packages or informing the pet supply store where I shopped, so that the staff could pass along that information to customers---seems lacking in sensitivity to the needs of the consumer base they're in business to serve. I would only discover the changes, when something didn't agree with CJ and I checked the ingredient list. So I stopped using Wellness products.
Pros: generally healthy ingredients
Cons: inadequate notice when recipes changed

If you can't cook for them....
posted 4 years ago
We switched to this Wellness kibble for two of our GSPs upon the vet's recommendation. I cook for our other guy; he's got some seriously special needs that travel outside the senior box....
Our dogs couldn't look better or be happier. There is no need to add anything to the food, as we were having to do before, to entice them to eat it all. All their bloodwork looks great and in addition to some wholesome snacks (real meat bones and the occasional apple), this does the trick. I would highly recommend the Wellness mix, over the other (and sometimes even more pricey) brands we've used in the past.
Pros: dogs enjoy the taste, alternative to home-cooked
Cons: could be cost prohibitive for some and not readily available in smaller areas

Best all natural dog food!
posted 3 years ago
I had been feeding my doxie Iams for a couple of years, until he became very sick and I realized it was the food that was making him sick! I studied Wellness dog food and learned that it is one of the best all natural dog foods out there. It comes highly recommended by my vet and other professionals in the pet care field. My doxie has not been sick for months now, looks healthier, has more energy and is overall healthier thanks to this food. I would recommend this to anyone that cares what their pet is eating and wants the best for their pet.
Pros: All natural, high quality ingredients, great food.
Cons: Little pricey.

Have used this and recommended it
posted 4 years ago
I have used this food for my older dog, not recently as she's now on senior food, but when she was younger. I recommended this food to my niece when she adopted her 2 lab mixes. They needed some good nutritional support but did not want to pay for a super-premium food so this fit the bill. Her dogs responded very well, their coats became visibly healthier and shinier. The 2 dogs have been on this food for almost 2 years and are doing great.
Pros: Easy to find; high quality
Cons: costs more than store brand
