This is a prescription diet designed to be easy to digest and help dogs w/ gastrointestinal issues such as vomiting, pancreatitis, etc...It's a great commercial diet that dog's tend to still love but is easy on their digestive system all the while being nutritionally balanced.

This food is available by prescription through a veterinarian, which makes it pricey.

The food had an almost immediate effect on my foster dog's system and stopped his diarrhea. He isn't sick or dealing with parasites, just has an overly sensitive digestive tract.

The low fat content is not really a weight maintenance feature for my dog, but part of why the food is easily digested. Higher fat foods can cause more irritation to sensitive systems like his.
