i used to feed Nutro until the big food scare came. Nutro is made by menu foods which had alot of food recalled. So basically I am punishing menu foods by never buying there product.

Krista has been eating the Nutro Venison and Brown Rice dry kibble for several months, and she seems to be healthy and perky. Her coat is nice and soft, her eyes are bright, and she has plenty of energy for playing. Fortunately, Krista doesn't have any food allergies or a sensitive stomach, so the Nutro doesn't bother her at all. She eats her kibble promptly when I feed her, so it can't taste too bad.

I'm a little worried with the current rumours about Nutro recalls, but otherwise I'll leave Krista on the food. She likes it and does well on it plus I prefer to keep my fosters on foods readily available at PetsMart since it's where we do adoptions.

There are definitely better foods available, but the Nutro Venison and Brown Rice is one of the better foods you can find at big box pet stores. It's not the greatest thing in the world for the price, but it's certainly more than good enough.

My dog seemed unimpressed by Nutro's Venison. I thought at first that perhaps it was the taste, but after switching around a bit, I found that the kibble was too large for his liking - he's not a "small" dog (aprox. 15 LB terrier/daschund mix). He is a bit older (nearly 8). He ate the entire bag - but would not eat the bowl in one sitting, and instead would pick at the bowl throughout the day...

So, while I was impressed with the ingredients and the price wasn't so bad, Jack wasn't a huge fan.

I mainly feed Georgia, my pit mix, Nutro Lamb and Rice. Nutro Venison was on sale recently, so I decided to buy a bag of that for her. She seems to like it just as much as the lamb formula. I like that it has limited ingredients because Georgia has some allergies. The price seems to be going up, just like all dog food. The venison formula also doesn't come in a 40 lb. bag. I prefer buying a 40 lb. bag.

I switched Buttercup from Eukanuba Labrador Retriever food to Nutro because my vet recommended it from personal experience with her own dog. Buttercup was having an allergic reaction to something in the Eukanuba, and I didn't really know what to try.
The venison and brown rice formula cleared up her allergic reaction almost immediately, and she Loves it. She eats a lot faster than she used to.

Pros: Excellent for allergic dog

Cons: Supply can't keep up with demand
