Dogswell Happy Heart Chicken Breast Jerky Treats promote cardiac health with a top-quality formula.
January 20, 2012 12:21 am | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
Dogswell Happy Heart Chicken Breast Jerky Treats are made from cage-free chicken, with flaxseed and taurine added to help maintain good cardiac health. The snacks contain a few other notable ingredients, such as dandelion oil, turmeric, and cinnamon.
However, the real meat-and-potatoes (well, the real meat) of this product is the cage-free chicken breast. Cage-free chicken breast is becoming more and more prevalent in pet food products these days, and I’m all for it. Not only is this component pesticide-free, but it’s also a more humane way to farm chickens, and uses up less resources, so is better for the environment.
The texture of Dogswell Happy Heart Chicken Breast Jerky Treats is tough, so if your dog is not a moderate-to-strong chewer, the snack may not be the best fit for him. Even our tester pooch, who’s relatively strong chewer, needed a solid ten or fifteen minutes to break the jerky-sized treat into pieces that were small and soft enough to be swallowed. This can lead to problems if your dog tries to swallow the treat before he’s ready, but a good way to combat this is to just keep an eye on him the first few times you give him the treat to see how well he does with it.
Best of all, I’m pleased to report that there are no antibiotics, added hormones or byproducts in Dogswell Happy Heart Chicken Breast Jerky Treats and they don’t need to be refrigerated. Simply store it in a cool, dry place and your dog can continue enjoying these treats.
Pros: Uses cage-free chicken breast; free of by-products.
Cons: Texture may be too tough for some pooches.

Pros: Healthy vitamin filled treats, no by products, easy to break apart
Cons: I haven't really seen any
