Economical version

posted 6 years ago

This is an option if you cannot affford the Hidden Fence. I prefer the one I have from DogWatch, but this is o.k. if you want to do everything yourself (digging, laying wire, box set up etc).

I like having a respresentative come out to my home if I ever have problems, .... this one is a bit risky in my opinion. My brother has it and loves it though.

To each his own!

Pros: cheaper version of the real thing

Cons: do not like the guarantee

Does Not Work with a German Shepherd

posted 6 years ago

I do not understand the rating categories on this product. Ability to tip? Puppy proof? Well, anyway, if you have a large dog, DO NOT rely on this device to keep your dog inside. Ha! We tried it for our German Shepherd because we live in a rural area and wanted to allow the natural wildlife to feed without keeping them out of their food with fences. This did not work with Roz at all. She pretty much just walked through it, as if a mosquito had stung her...

Pros: *Might* work for little dogs

Cons: Unreliable method of keeping larger dogs from running off property

Keep your dogs (& cats?)safe

posted 5 years ago

We bought our house with a petsafe system already installed. Once we got around to using it, we were thrilled with the results. It takes a couple weeks of walking your dog around the perimiter, but after that initial training period you're set. They even have collars for cats now! We have 2 dogs on a road where people love to speed, and completly trust our petsafe fence to keep them safe and out of the road. The only major thing to keep in mind is to test the batteries in the collars about every 4 - 6 months. The one time i didn't, one of my dogs ran into the road. She did get hit, but it was minor injuries, so I was lucky. Now i'm fanatic about checking their batteries. It drives my husband crazy.

Pros: once installed, you don't have to worry about it again.

Cons: They seem to be very sensitive to lightning, or power surges; and there's no alert system for dead batteries in the collar.

Iams ProActive Health Multi-Cat Chicken & Salmon Cat Food

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
