This is a great idea! We installed it permanently on our patio. We still have to open the enclosed patio door, but the dogs go out thru the dog door on their own. Eliminates a big draft entering the house! Nice as it has a hard panel to prevent them from coming back in or from allowing them to exit when you need to confine them. However the magnet is not real strong on the bottom when the wind blows hard as it will often blow the bottom of the panel open and allow drafts in. But overall I would purchase this over again!

My dog learned to use my Petsafe door after about 3 minutes. Petsafe makes many sizes and models of their dog and cat doors. Mine does not have the double flap which is insulated, so there is still some draft despite magnets on the one flap.
