I have had my containment system for about 5 years. I have had to replace my collars about every year and a half due to moisture getting into them and shorting them out. My dogs do not swim with their collars on and I keep them in when it rains. Thecompanygives a discount on replacement collars, but I did not know this was a problem with the system when I ordered it. I had my underground fence professionally placed with a heavier gauge wire as I have horses, and the wire that comes with the system is very thin and would break if it was muddy and my horses stepped on the wire. Since doing this I have had no problems with the wire. It is very good for my dogs but does take some tending to to make sure the collars are working. It also does not keep other dogs out of your yard, which can cause problems if you are in an area that has a lot of strays around. It gives a warning beep to my dogs to let them know they are getting too close to the boundary, and my dogs pretty much will respect the fence. I would recommend this product and feel the people at Innotek are friendly and will work with you on prices for their replacement products.

Pros: My dog has a lot of freedom to run on my farm.

Cons: The collars stop working when moisture gets into them from normal wear.

After installing this product it worked well... for a couple of months. Then... the collar quit working. Customer service was not very helpful in assisting us with getting a replacement, but after a few calls, we did. Only about a month after getting the new collar, it stopped working again. (Yes, we checked the batteries, and also tested to see if there were any breaks in the buried line...) After collar #3 gave up on us, we just didn't want to risk the possibility of our dog not having a reliable boundary system, so we finally had to give up, count our money lost, and invest in a different system (which has continued to work just fine for over two years now.)
