Handi-drink Instant Dog Drinkers
(4 out of 5)
Handi-Drink Dog Drinker is convenient for walks and travel.

The Handi-Drink Small Dog Drinker, by Pet Crew, is a portable, plastic container with an attached pan. This pan conveniently unfolds to give your dog a bowl to drink from when you're both on-the-go. The drinker is lightweight and made of durable plastic, making it ideal for outings, walks, and long car trips. The Handi-Drink also comes with a 60-inch strap and a belt clip that make it convenient to carry. I preferred the strap to the belt clip: the belt clip made the full water bottle bounce uncomfortably against my leg whereas the strap was quite comfortable.
While my overall experience with the Handi-Drink was positive, one improvement could be made to the product. The drinker only carries 9 ounces of water when full. On average, a dog consumes ½ to 1-ounce of water per pound of body weight, per day. This means that the Handi-Drink carries about one-third of the amount of water that a small dog needs in a day. This amount would probably be adequate were it not for the water that naturally spills over the sides when a dog drinks from it. Even though my dog finished all the water I gave him, I don’t know exactly how much he drank and how much wound up on the sidewalk.
After my experience with the Handi-Drink Small Dog Drinker, I would recommend it primarily for car trips and short walks. For long walks or activities where your dog is going to be out in the sun and/or exercising for long periods of time, be sure that you will be able to refill the Handi-Drink -- as well as your own water bottle -- periodically from a larger source.
Pros: Convenient and lightweight, with durable construction.
Cons: Drinker does not hold adequate water for long periods of exercise, especially on hot days.
