The Contech DrinkBetter Plastic Water Bowl regulates water flow for healthier, cleaner hydration.

September 29, 2011 8:00 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.

Keeping our dogs hydrated is a top priority. But as with so many other aspects of life, sometimes our dogs don’t know when to slow down, whether they’re chasing birds high in the air or slurping water from the bowl. Fortunately, the Contech DrinkBetter Plastic Water Bowl features a unique design that helps regulate the pace of your dog’s drinking, reducing problems such as spitting up and controlling messes, while making sure that your pooch still gets enough water.

The remarkable float of the Contech DrinkBetter Plastic Water Bowl accomplishes two functions. If your dog drinks quickly enough to vomit or choke while consuming water, the regulated flow can help cut down on these problems. And if your dog is a messy drinker, or has long ears or fur that tend to soak up more water than he drinks, the bowl can also help to keep these areas dry — and keep the water going inside your dog to hydrate him, instead of covering his outside.

Available in blue, pink, or clear styles, the Contech DrinkBetter Plastic Water Bowl is more than just functional; it is also attractive. And the plastic material used in the construction proved to be durable, helping to reduce skids and spills. The bowl is priced higher than regular bowls, retailing for about $24 during some online sales, but if your dog has serious problems when gulping water, you may consider this distinctive bowl to be worth the investment over the long term.

If your dog is also a fast eater, you might want to try the Contech EatBetter Plastic Food Bowl; the two bowls are also available as a combination set at some online outlets at a reduced price.

Pros: Helps to control dogs who are fast drinkers; reduces mess.

Cons: None.
